PhD - University of Oxford 2004
B.S. - Cornell University 2000

I joined the Biology Department as an Assistant Professor of Biology in 2005. I teach introductory biology classes as welll as an upper-level ornithology and conduct research on the population, community, and landscape-level ecology of birds.

Research:

I am an ornithologist who is interested in the population, community, and landscape ecology of birds, and my main area of research is in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I use a combination of point counts, mist-netting, GIS and computer modeling to explore the issues such as invasive species, edge effects, and land use / land cover change.
